Voltaire Reader

How to use Voltaire Reader

A quick guide to the main features — from adding your first feed to translation and backup.

1. First launch and adding feeds

On first launch, add the feeds you want to follow — either by searching for a site name, entering a direct RSS/Atom feed URL, or importing an existing list in OPML format from another reader.

2. Reading and filtering

The main screen has three tabs: New, Saved and All. You can filter articles by feed category directly via the chips under the header.

3. Translating articles

Foreign articles are translated automatically via Voltaire Cloud — nothing to set up or switch. The newest headlines are translated first.

4. Widget and notifications

Voltaire Reader can add a home-screen widget showing the latest unread article and send a notification when your feeds publish something new.

5. Voltaire Pro and subscription

Voltaire Pro unlocks unlimited translation and backup to Google Drive. Activate it by signing in with your Google account and get a free 7-day trial.

6. Export and backup

You can export your feed list to the standard OPML format at any time — it also works in Basic mode.

7. Appearance

The app supports both light and dark mode with a teal-green Material 3 Expressive identity, including a true black AMOLED/OLED look that saves battery.
